FedResumeFix

The free 2-page resume checker

Paste your existing federal resume below. The checker estimates your page count at compliant formatting, audits every job block for the elements OPM requires, and — if you also paste your job announcement — maps your resume against its specialized-experience language and tells you which enforcement regime you are under.

Private by design: this checker runs 100% in your browser. Your resume text is never uploaded, transmitted, stored, or seen by us. Load this page, disconnect your internet, and it still works.

Or load a plain-text file: · For a PDF, open it, select all, copy, and paste above.

How the estimate works: your word count is measured against a 2-page capacity of roughly 1,400 words — Letter paper, 0.5-inch margins, 10pt minimum body type (the tightest formatting announcements prescribe), with typical resume headings and spacing counted in. Your real pagination depends on your layout; treat every number here as an estimate and confirm in your actual document. Field detection is a heuristic scan of pasted text: "not detected" means the scan did not find it, not that it is certainly absent.

What "compliant" means (OPM applicant guidance)

  • Per job: job title and employer (series and grade for federal positions), start and end dates in month/year format, hours worked per week, descriptions aligned with the announcement.
  • Education: school name, degree type, completion date, cumulative GPA.
  • Formatting seen in current announcements: legible sans-serif font, 10pt minimum body text, 14pt titles, 0.5-inch margins, file ≤ 5MB, PDF recommended.
  • Your announcement is the final authority — some postings additionally require salary, employer address, work schedule, or supervisor details. Check its Required Documents section.
